Bordeaux - Euskadi (2020)
In spite of being the summer of Covid, I was able to travel to France in July and to the Basque Country in August, sketching a lot in both trips.
Spiti - Ladakh (2019)
The scheduled route went from Kibber, in the Spiti Valley, to Tsomoriri, in the Changtang region, but there was too much snow on Parang La and we had to go back. Plan B was trekking from Kunzum La to Baralacha La.
Ireland (2019)
It was my second trip to the island. We visited Belfast, Giant's Causeway, Derry, Galway, Connemara, the Aran Islands, the cliffs of Moher, the Ring of Kerry, Dingle, Cork, Glendalough and Dublin.
Prague and Orléans (2018)
A summer of urban sketching in Europe.
Iceland (2017)
We covered the southern half of the island, visiting Landmannalaugar, Snaefells peninsula, the Golden Ring, Vík, Skaftafell, East Fjords and Reykjanes.
Sakhalin and Kurils islands (2016)
It was like a second part to my 2004 trip to nearby Kamchatcka. We stayed in Yuzhno Sakhalinsk and Kunashir island, and hiked in the region, enjoying the rugged coastline, basalt columns, volcanoes ...and no tourists.
Ladakh (2015)
It was my second trip to the Ladakh region, in the Indian Himalayas, and we did the Rumtse-Tsomoriri trekking, in the Changthang area. It was a high route, all camps over 4000 m and several passes over 5000 m. We ended our stay visiting Pangong Lake.
USA (2014)
Classic route by car, starting in Las Vegas, visiting Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks, Lake Powell, Monument Valley, the Grand Canyon, Death Valley and Yosemite, to end in San Francisco.
Cordillera Huayhuash (2012)
Huayhuash range, in the Peruvian Andes, is a popular trekking destination, for good reasons. Landscape is amazing, with +6000 m summits reflecting in the numerous lakes.
The strenuous route was completed with the ascension to Diablo Mudo (5350 m).
Fann Mountains (2010)
A trek in the Fann Mountains, in Tadjikistan, Central Asia, a very beautiful and little known region.
Canadà (2009)
Starting from Vancouver, we visited and hiked on Glacier, Yoho, Banff, Jasper and Mount Robson parks.
Dolomites (2005, 2006, 2010)
I discovered the Dolomites, in Italy, during a geology trip, and I've been back twice.
In some of the travels we explored also some parts of the Swiss, Austrian and Slovenian Alps.
Kamchatka (2004)
From WWII  to 1990, the Kamchatka peninsula, at the edge of Eastern Siberia, was a military zone, restricted to visitors. It is a UNESCO Heritage Site, that hosts probably the world's highest density of volcanoes.
We followed a trekking route in the region of the Kliutchevskoy range and we climbed two volcanoes: Bezymianny and Tolbachik.
