What I do
I started oil painting in my college years. Mostly I paint from travel and hiking photographs, trying to go beyond the copy.
I've drawn from life for years, mostly landscape and portrait, and lately Ive been trying urban sketching techniques.
I discovered square nib calligraphy in 1991 and it's become one of my passions. Since 2018, I also use pointed flexible nibs.
I entered the pop-up universe in 2014 and I've specialized in origamic architecture. Here are models that I've designed.
I love travelling, mountaineering, photography and sketching. Sometimes I manage to do all these things at once.
A selection of images I've created to illustrate stories or for educational purposes, using digital or traditional media.
I often do corporate, publishing and web design for my high school or for groups and organisations where I'm involved.
Images and videos of Flash design and animation I used to create for websites, mostly educational, until Flash became obsolete (a pity).
About me
My name is Eduard Barrobés i Meix. I'm a graduated on Art in the University of Barcelona. I teach art, design and technical drawing in the "Eugeni d'Ors" High School, in Vilafranca del Penedès (Catalonia), where I live since 1994.
As a painter, I practice outdoors sketching and oil painting (mostly landscapes, which I've shown in a few exhibitions so far). I eventually do graphic design, illustration, portraits, calligraphy and pop-ups. I also used to work on Flash design and programming for educational websites. In 2022 I founded Urban Sketchers Penedès.
